Duration of course: 30 hours

Overview: We will study different threadings and tie-ups and how they create different weaves. During this course students will be introduced to the three fundamental types of floor looms (jack, counterbalance and counter march), their tie-ups and how to write them.

Program: types of looms; drafting for a floor loom (drawdown, threading, tie-up and treadling); fabric analysis; types of threadings and weaves; block theory applied to different types of weaves. Samples will be woven on already set-up looms.
